Five years flew by! It is still hard to believe I have lived in Arizona for five years too! My hubby and I celebrated our five year anniversary earlier this month with a trip to wine country. To say it was amazing is an under statement. Today I’m sharing our experience in Sonoma, Ca.
We stayed at The Lodge at Sonoma. The property was gorgeous! Most rooms have a balcony with a sitting table and a fireplace, which made for a very romantic weekend. The start to our day included yoga and a hike. On Saturday we spent the afternoon by the pool with my maid of honor and her hubby. I really enjoyed spending time with loved ones who were there on our wedding day. If you are traveling to Sonoma, definitely check out this hotel. (photos curtesy The Lodge)
Downtown Sonoma is referred to as Sonoma Square. It was one of the quaintest little towns we have ever been to! The history of the town was fun to discover together. I grew up visiting the missions in California but I never made it to the northern most mission, Sonoma. It brought back wonderful childhood memories. We explored the barracks also and we loved walking through the shops.
Friday we explored the wineries, I found a tour on a Trolley Car. It was so fun!!!! They picked us up at The Lodge and took us around the square and then to four wineries. What made this tour the best I had been on was each winery gave us a tour of their property. We got to see wine caves, grapes growing, the wine making process and sip on amazing wine! Each place only cost $5-15 per tasting.
This was one of my favorite trips with my husband! I am looking forward to another wonderful five years and a lifelong love with him. Cherish your husband today, whether you’ve been married 5 days or 50 years! Marriage is a precious entity that needs to be cherished, even in the tough times. Don’t give up ladies, marriage and love is hard work. Take time to celebrate the hard work you and your spouse do each year. Style your marriage with love, hard work, patience and a good ear.
