I love watching women get makeovers!!! The whole process intrigues me. Yesterday, I watched the Today show, saw their Ambush Makeovers and it inspired me! These women had drastic makeovers and it was amazing to see their spirit shine after they saw themselves.
I wish every woman glowed like these women did everyday. At home, we don’t have make up artists and hair dressers to put us together each morning but we can learn something from this process. I believe God wants us to see the beauty He created in us on a daily basis. That doesn’t mean we have to get fully ready everyday to see that, but we need to acknowledge it daily. I know I am guilty of being too busy and not making time for that. I have been making a point to change that recently.
Back in August, I was challenged to write down what I want my family and friends to say about me on my 80th birthday. This made me really think about how I will impact my daughter and what I will teach her. I want her to grow up knowing she is beautiful, in spirit and in body. I want her to be confident in herself, her purpose here, and her relationship with God.
How will I teach her all this? It’s a tall task but I am up for the challenge. I believe it starts with me. My sweet girl is going to watch everything I do and I need show her I love myself. I think she will learn these things by my example. I have stopped the negative self talk. I no longer point out all my flaws. I am no longer fat and unhappy with my body. Even though it’s not the way it was before I had her, my body helped bring her to life. For this reason, I LOVE my body! Of course, I have those days when I’m just not feeling that great but I choose not to verbalize and instead I pray about it. I ask God to show me all the blessing He has brought me that day and my attitude shifts.
I hope you read this post today and are reminded you are Beautiful!!!!! You are unique and loved. Let that be what makes you shine everyday.
